The scientific calibration Compounds are typically used by the mass spectrometer user to adjust the mass spectrometer calibration scale as well as the relative intensities of mass spectrometer peaks from low to high mass. This method is particularly necessary for the setup of quadrapole mass spectrometers.
The most popular scientific calibration compound is FC-43, also known as Perfluorotributylamine. Various other scientific calibration compounds are also used to adjust the high-resolution mass spectrometer calibration scale. The most common calibration compounds are available in various mass spec techniques including low resolution, high resolution, Electron Impact, Chemical Ionization and Negative Ion Mass Spectrometry. We have a list of some popular scientific calibration compounds:

- FC-70
- FC-71
- FC-5311
